Sunderland issued warning as ex-Chelsea man is linked

If Sunderland wants to stay in the Premier League, they need to surround their talented young players with some experience.

As he evaluates the Black Cats team following their promotion from the Championship, former defender Phil Bardsley holds that opinion.

With the youngest team in the competition, Sunderland put on a valiant season. They are now examining their options for staying in the top tier and stabilizing.

Tommy Watson and Jobe Bellingham, two teenage sensations, have gone for Brighton, a new Premier League competitor, and Borussia Dortmund, a German powerhouse.

However, even if the club activated a condition to recruit a Roma loan midfielder on a permanent basis, they have not yet announced any new activity in the market.

“There are a lot of young, talented players on the team,” Bardsley remarked.

“They’ve risen, so they can bolster that young group and bring in some more seasoned players throughout the summer to support them in the Premier League.”

Players like Luke O’Nien, who has been with the team for a long time, have been excellent servants. You can count on him to give you a 7-8 out of 10 every week.

To be honest, it’s difficult to find players like that; they most likely don’t receive the same respect as other athletes. He has been outstanding, but overall, the team has some excellent players and skill.

Wilson Isidor, a Frenchman, finished as the team’s top scorer last season with 14 goals in 49 games, 13 of which were in the second division, placing him in the Championship scoring lists overall. However, he stopped scoring goals as the season came to a close.

Wilson Isidor, who played for the Black Cats from 2008 to 2014, is also up front and has a little speed to him, according to Bardsley.

“You always have a good chance of scoring when you have a little speed about you.

Since they are a young team, they will need to be careful not to struggle like they did toward the conclusion of the season.

They redeemed themselves and produced when it mattered, but you will run out of fuel a lot.

“We’ll have to see how they recruit and how they perform because it’s a huge step up from the Premier League.”

According to reports, Sunderland and Leeds United are both investigating a transfer for Mario Pasalic, a Croatian international. Both teams are hoping to see if they can find a solution and sign the 76-cap international on a free transfer when his contract with Atalanta expires on June 30.

The former Chelsea and AC Milan midfielder’s contract expires at the end of this month.

Over the course of seven seasons, Pasalic has made 298 appearances for Atlanta, scoring 59 goals.

Additionally, in an effort to reclaim the top division, Sunderland and Leeds are also searching for an experienced player to dominate the middle of the park.
