Sunderland ‘officially’ reject £21m transfer bid as Kristjaan Speakman delivers ‘proud’ verdict

According to reports, Sunderland “officially” rejected the £21 million proposal following Kristjaan Speakman’s decision.

Borussia Dortmund is anticipated to make a better offer when they return to try to sign England U21 midfielder Jobe Bellingham. Sky Germany claims that once Sunderland was promoted to the Premier League, they rejected an early approach of up to €25 million (£21 million).

According to reports, the Bundesliga team is moving quickly to update their offer, with a package of €25 million plus an extra €5 million in performance-related bonuses thought to be sufficient to secure an agreement.

Ahead of the Club World Cup later this summer, which Bellingham is reportedly excited to play in, Dortmund is eager to recruit the 19-year-old. Dortmund must make a decision swiftly if they want to bring Bellingham to Germany in time, though, since he is also anticipated to join England’s U21 team for the European Championship in Slovakia.
