Sunderland: Premier League 2025/26 fixtures and schedule

The 2025–26 season begins when Sunderland hosts West Ham at the Stadium of Light; the Tyne-Wear derby is set

for December 13 at home, with the rematch on 21 March. During the Christmas season, Sunderland will play

Manchester City twice in addition to Liverpool, Brighton, Leeds, and Newcastle.

On August 16, Sunderland will play their first Premier League game since being relegated in 2016–17 at the Stadium

of Light against West Ham United.

Regis Le Bris’ team starts their comeback to the Premier League at home before playing Burnley, another recently

promoted team, at Turf Moor on August 23.

The eagerly awaited return of the Tyne-Wear derby against Newcastle in the Premier League will be played at home

on December 13, with the return fixture at St James’ Park on March 21.

After losing both of their Championship games with Leeds last season during a challenging holiday season,
Sunderland will have to wait until December 27 to see whether they can defeat them.

The Black Cats will have to contend with a demanding schedule of games against Leeds, Brighton, Newcastle,

Liverpool, and Man City during their six games this month.
They will play Pep Guardiola’s redesigned City team twice this month, at home on December 30 and at Manchester
on December 6.

At the end of the season, it doesn’t get any simpler either. In their final three games, Sunderland might have to look

for points against Chelsea, Everton, and Manchester United.
Sky Sports will broadcast at least 215 Premier League games live exclusively starting in the upcoming season, up
from 128 games this year.

Additionally, Sky Sports will broadcast 80% of all Premier League games next season.
