SUPER LEAGUE: 2026 off-contract XIII, which includes guys from St Helens and Leigh Leopards

We have selected the top XIII of off-contract players, although there are many Super League players without contracts for 2026.

As teams begin to conclude deals and assemble their roster for the upcoming season, recruitment is well underway in anticipation of 2026.

With several contracts and contract extensions still pending, well-known players like Jazz Tevaga, Sam Lisone, and Tom Amone are all in motion.

Talent is still widely available on the free market as of right now. This is the entire team of players that have not yet found a club for the upcoming season.

Which Super League players are the greatest off-contract in 2026?
Full Back: Hooley, Luke

After being on loan to the Bradford Bulls for the season, the Castleford Tigers full back has played in the Championship. The 26-year-old appears to have played his final game for the West Yorkshire team, despite having opportunities in the Super League with Leeds and the Tigers.

Wingers: Josh Charnley and Tom Briscoe

For 2026, the seasoned pair still has no club. Leigh winger Charnley has been under criticism from the media and Leopards supporters this week after saying that a “dream” transfer would be going back to Wigan. Nevertheless, he has made it clear that he intends to remain at the Leopards.

Halfway through the previous season, Briscoe rejoined Hull FC from the Leopards. If the Black and Whites decide not to extend his contract, the 35-year-old would still offer experience and might be a reliable depth option for any squad.

Centres: Rodrick Tai and Matthieu Laguerre

Laguerre is one of fourteen Dragons players who have yet to sign a contract. With just four tries this season and none since the beginning of May, he may need to finish strong in order to secure a contract wherever that may be.

The PNG international’s 2024 transfer to Warrington has not gone as planned. During his tenure with the Widnes Vikings in the Championship, Tai seems to have never been the team’s first pick because players like Aaron Lindop and Connor Wrench were selected before him. At just 26, a change of scenery might launch his career.

Lachlan Lam and Theo Fages are the halves.

Although it is quite possible that Lachlan Lam will sign a new contract to stay with the Leopards, Leigh has not yet formally stated that he would stay with the team until 2026.

The contracts of the Leopards’ three halves are all up, and neither Ben McNamara nor Gareth O’Brien have been confirmed to stay.

Fages’ return to France hasn’t lived up to his hopes, as the Dragons haven’t performed well this season. He can, however, alter games with his game management and accurate kicking when he is playing at his best.

Loghan Lewis and Jack Ashworth provided props.

Although neither team has yet to acknowledge it, Ashworth has been linked to a move to the Castleford Tigers for the next season. He has had a fantastic season with the Black and Whites, and he overcame the Wigan Warriors on Sunday.

Lewis has been unlucky with injuries since moving to the UK, but there is no denying his desire to continue at Salford. Lewis is likely to leave the Red Devils at the conclusion of the season, though, given their financial difficulties and inability to guarantee any players’ futures past the end of the current campaign.

Matt Whitley and Curtis Sironen in the second row

Despite their extensive experience, the Saints team still has a lot of skill. You would think that one or both of the players would remain at the Totally Wicked Stadium, especially since Morgan Knowles, James Bell, and Joe Batchelor are all departing the team.

Jordy Crowther, Loose Forward

Crowther, who can play hooker or loose forward, hasn’t been able to replicate the amazing brilliance that got him a transfer to Warrington at Wakefield. The 28-year-old would be a good addition to any team, though, if they found a new team that knew how to bring out the best in him.
