Swansea City Academy youngsters enjoy ‘Play on the Pitch’ day at the Swansea.com Stadium

With an afternoon of games at Swansea.com Stadium, Swansea City Academy recently gave the foundation and youth development phase squads a day to remember.

The academy grads Joe Allen, Ben Cabango, Liam Cullen, and Ollie Cooper have all played on the sacred turf, which the under-nines through the under-14s got the opportunity to experience.

While the under-13s and under-14s had complete control of the field for an 80-minute match, the smaller age groups engaged in small-sided games against one another.

“At the Academy, we must maximize the opportunities to contribute to the creation of enduring memories,” stated Academy manager Gavin Levey.

“Every young player’s Academy experience is different, but ideally, the opportunity to play in the stadium will motivate the youngsters to reach their maximum potential!

“A big thank you must go to our operations team at the stadium who helped create a great day for the youngsters and their families.”
