Swansea City duo attracting interest as approaches made for out-of-favour attackers

Swansea City have received approaches from several sides for out-of-favour striker Jerry Yates, WalesOnline understands.

The 28-year-old’s future in SA1 has looked uncertain for some time, but talk over a possible exit has ramped up this week after he was left out of the team’s pre-season training camp in Spain.

Swansea are now willing to sanction an exit this summer, and it’s understood they favour a permanent deal rather than another loan move, with Yates still having one year left on his current deal. Sign up to our Swansea City newsletter here.

At the time of writing, there isn’t believed to be a concrete offer on the table, but it seems highly like that he’s now played his last game for the club.

Blackpool are among those to have already expressed an interest in Yates, who spent three years with the Tangerines after joining from Rotherham United in 2020.

Quizzed on a potential move, Blackpool boss Steve Bruce said recently: “Everyone in the club likes Jerry Yates so I hear – he’s a bit of a cult hero.
