After Ethan Galbraith scored his first goal in Swansea City’s 3-1 EFL Trophy victory over Crawley Town, head coach Alan Sheehan thinks the Northern Ireland international may develop into “a very good player for us.” The team’s supporters are also getting enthusiastic.
Earlier this summer, Galbraith signed a three-year contract with a one-year option to join the Championship team from Leyton Orient. After scoring six goals and dishing out seven assists in League One last season, the former Linfield kid, who left Windsor Park for Premier League powerhouse Manchester United in 2017, became Orient’s record sale in a deal estimated to be worth roughly £1.6 million.
Galbraith’s recent success has allowed him to re-establish himself in Northern Ireland’s senior team, and he is expected to be a key player in their forthcoming World Cup qualifying campaign.
Galbraith is a “Premier League player in the making,” according to former Orient manager Richie Wellens, and new manager Sheehan believes the 24-year-old will have a significant effect this season. Sheehan told the BBC that Tuesday’s performance was “excellent” and that “he is a player we are integrating.” “His technical skills are good. He can be a very good player for us if we can just get him to be that consistent.”
