Swansea favourites to sign Wycombe striker Kone.

Swansea City have emerged as favourites to sign Wycombe Wanderers striker Richard Kone, despite a competing bid from Preston North End.
Kone, 22, scored 18 goals in League One last season as Wycombe fell short of promotion to the Championship after losing to Charlton Athletic in the play-off semi-finals.
Preston made a £3 million bid, but with Wycombe holding out for £5 million, sources close to the negotiations say Swansea offered £4.5 million.
Kone has been at Adams Park since joining from Essex Senior League club Athletic Newham in January 2024 after a successful trial.
He has a year left on his contract and has sparked interest from several clubs, including French side Toulouse, who are reportedly interested in signing him this summer.
However, Swansea now appear to be in the best position to sign Kone. According to club sources, signing a striker is a top priority for the Swans before the transfer window closes. Last season, Alan Sheehan’s side finished 11th in the Championship, with Preston in 20th.
