Tavernier addresses Rangers future as contract enters final year

Tavernier addresses Rangers future as contract enters final year.

Asked about his future at Ibrox, James Tavernier claimed he is not looking beyond the conclusion of his contract with Rangers. The Rangers captain has one year left on his present contract in Govan, and this summer marks ten years at the club. However, Tavernier has declined to comment on his future after his contract expires, vowing to “give everything” for the Rangers. The 33-year-old right-back is happy in Scotland and has stated that he wants to “win more things” but has not looked beyond his present contract. “I have got one more year left, I am not looking beyond that,” replied Tavernier.

“I am as settled as I have been, and all I want to do is win more things. “I will continue to give everything that I have got, keep working hard and try to achieve bigger and better things for the club.” When asked to reminisce on a decade with Rangers, Tavernierw told Sky Sports: “Rollercoaster.” It’s gone really quickly. “My regret is that I didn’t receive as many awards as I would have liked throughout the years; that’s definitely the downside. “But personally, when I eventually do hang my boots up, a lot more years down the line, I look back at it and I can say I gave everything.”
