A teenage boy held a six-inch knife to another child’s neck in a school toilet. The 16 year-old boy appeared in court on Tuesday, April 15, and pleaded guilty to bringing a bladed object onto school premises in Cardiff on two separate occasions in 2024.

In a video played to Cardiff Youth Court, the teenager was shown holding the knife to the area near another pupil’s neck and head, although he did not threaten or make contact to the other child’s body with the blade.

At a hearing on April 15, the teenager pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a bladed article on school premises.

He was issued with a nine month referral order by magistrates.

Neither the boy, nor the school can be named for legal reasons.
