‘The list is long!’: Turf Moor redevelopment outlined as Burnley’s owners strive for improvements

Burnley’s ownership group has revealed that they are eager to oversee changes both on and off the pitch, using the Turf Moor redevelopment as an example.

Both chairman Alan Pace and director Stuart Hunt have stated their desire to enhance the club’s renowned 142-year-old stadium.

While Hunt is happy with the Clarets’ success over the last five years under the leadership of ALK Capital, he acknowledges that much more work need to be done.

“We as an ownership and through Alan’s leadership are just making the strides that we need to,” he responded.

“Sometimes for us it doesn’t go as quickly [as we would like], but it is definitely remarkable to see the steps that we’ve achieved, and through his leadership, and through the hard work of all of our staff we’ve been able to see quite a difference since we’ve taken over.”

When asked what tasks he wanted to accomplish sooner, Hunt replied, “Let’s see, the list is vast! “We would like to do more with the stadium. We would love to upgrade the facilities there.

“We’d love to have unlimited funds to spend on the first squad and such. We will get there, though. We’ve got a plan.

“We have a cadence that we want to form and we do our best to work it out.”

While Pace did not go into specifics about what could be accomplished at Turf Moor, he did state that he wants the club to remain at the forefront of the town’s overall progress.

“There’s a lot of stuff that will happen over the next 10 years that I think we want to be part of this town as it continues to develop and advance and make changes,” according to him.

“I believe we play an important role in this, not only as athletes, but also as members of the community. Between the charity and ourselves, we have a lot to contribute and be a voice for particular issues.

“I think that we will try and take a leadership position in trying to help continue to make change.”
