Regis Le Bris has praised the instant camaraderie that has developed among the Sunderlandsquad and how, in his opinion, it has spread throughout his players. With just one loss in their first six Premier League games this season, the Black Cats have amassed 11 points. They just held on under tremendous pressure to defeat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the City Ground on Saturday.
Unwavering unity and a determination to fight to the end were the cornerstones of last season’s success in earning promotion to the Premier League, and it’s clear that this season, despite the team being different, that remains the case. “It’s really important,” the head coach stated. There is no negotiating the connectedness. You cannot be a member of the squad if you don’t put in a lot of effort. That’s still infectious. I believe we did a great job recruiting the new players because their personalities mesh well with our team.
“They can come off and give the squad all of their energy, and this evening was no exception. They are working hard even if they are on the bench.” The Lads won their first away game of the season thanks to a header from Omar Alderete at the City Ground.
