These pubs will be packed as the Latics look to return to the Football League.

At 3pm on Sunday (June 1), Oldham Athletic will play the club’s biggest game in possibly decades as the Latics look to return to the Football League.

 

It marks a major moment for the club and the town, with thousands making the trip to Wembley.

 

However, not everyone can make the trip, and many Oldhamers will be looking to watch the game in a local pub.

So, whether you’re a die-hard Latics fan who can’t make the trip or just eager to see the club in its biggest game in years, here are some of the pubs that have confirmed they will be screening the Latics games against Southend United at Wembley

 

The Famous King George – Hollins Road

Having reopened under new management just weeks ago, The Famous King George has confirmed it will be showing the match, and with some special offers on as well.

Landlord Kevin Howard has said that visitors will be treated to free pizza at half time and there will be shots for everyone if the Latics win.

 

The Park Inn – Buckstones Road, Shaw

Up in Shaw, The Park Inn has said it will be screening the game, having shown the Latics’ previous two play-off games.

Landlady Sally-Ann Sharples-Kennedy has also said the pub is doing a special deal on food for the game, with a burger, chips and a pint on offer for £9.50.

 

The recently-refurbished pub which sits near the Oldham-Rochdale border found out on Friday (May 30) that it will indeed be sharing the match on its screens.

And with no shortage of screens in the pub, guests will be sure to get a good angle wherever they are stood or sat.

Based in Oldham town centre, Whittles usually operates as a live music venue, but is pulling out all the stops for the final on Sunday.

 

The match will be shown on large indoor and outdoor screens, with free entry for all guests.

 

There will also be a live ska music performance from The Rudeboy Roadshow and food available, but visitors are encouraged to get down early to grab a spot.

 

Colliers Arms – Old Lane, Chadderton

Over in Chadderton, the Colliers Arms will be screening the match.

 

In a social media post, the pub promised a “great atmosphere” to cheer on the Latics.
