The REAL REASON Michael Carrick was sacked by Boro REVEALED!?
Michael Carrick, a former player for Manchester United, has been fired by Middlesbrough.
In October 2022, Carrick assumed leadership of Middlesbrough, his first managerial position. He led Boro to a 2022–2023 play-off finish, but in the two seasons following, the team has missed out on the top six.
Middlesbrough placed tenth in the Championship standings for the recently ended 2024–2025 season.
“Middlesbrough Football Club has today parted company with head coach Michael Carrick,” the team said in a statement released on Wednesday.
“Michael’s assistants Jonathan Woodgate and Graeme Carrick have also departed the club.”
We express our gratitude to Michael, Jonathan, and Graeme for their tireless efforts and unshakeable dedication. We want the best for them in the future.
“At this time, the club will not be commenting further.”
Carrick spoke with Steve Gibson, the owner of Middlesbrough, on Wednesday, according to Sky Sports. His destiny was determined at this meeting.
After three years in the bench, it is thought that the club decided it was time to let Carrick leave.
Despite his firing, the 43-year-old is still well-liked at Middlesbrough.
Carrick’s exit means that 17 of the 24 Championship clubs from last season have now undergone managerial changes since August.
Carrick retired from professional football at the end of the 2017/18 campaign, having made 464 appearances for United. He scored 24 goals for the Red Devils.
