The six Premier League sides Reading can draw in Carabao Cup round two

Reading will find out their Carabao Cup second round opponents this evening, with six Premier League sides entering the southern section draw.

The Royals secured their first win of the 2025/26 season on Tuesday, defeating Championship side Portsmouth 2-1 at Fratton Park. Andre Garcia and Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan scored twice inside four minutes of the first half, and Tayo Singerr added a consolation goal deep into stoppage time to make for a tense finish. The second round draw remains regionalised, although numbers have been verified, with Reading having 16.

The draw for round two will take place live during the build-up to Birmingham City’s Round One clash against Sheffield United on Sky Sports Football on Wednesday, August 13. Sky Sports presenter Mark Chapman will host the draw at roughly 7:20 p.m., which will involve the introduction of the 11 Premier League clubs that are not competing in European competitions.

The southern section includes Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham, West Ham United, and Wolves. Premier League teams from Europe enter in round three. Check out the whole list of ball numbers below.

This means the Royals will play three midweek games in a row, with trips to Bolton Wanderers and Swindon Town coming before the Carabao Cup final.
