Thomas Frank sends Tottenham Hotspur a warning ahead of the summer
Two of Brentford’s best players are apparently being targeted by Tottenham Hotspur this summer, and Thomas
Frank has now made it apparent what the North London team must do to acquire the two players.
Tottenham has been credited in several stories over the past few months with showing a strong interest in Bryan
Mbeumo, as regular Spurs Web readers are aware.
Despite having another outstanding season with 18 goals, the nimble forward is not the only Brentford striker who
might be moved this summer.
It was also claimed that Spurs had already discussed a deal with Brentford for his strike partner, Yono Wissa, who is
also anticipated to draw offers this summer.
Given that the Bees have historically been a selling club, Frank has now acknowledged that both Tottenham Hotspur
targets may depart the West London team this summer.
However, the Danish coach made it clear that it will take a sizable bid to prise either player away, given how they
have developed over the last couple of years.
When asked about the talk surrounding Wisse and Mbeumo, Frank told Sky Sports: “I would like them to stay. All of
the top players should remain with the team, in my opinion. They are so good that they must be at a really good club,
even though we all know that we are a selling club. However, the cost of what they receive will be high.
“They are both of high quality. They have both grown significantly. Bryyan has been here six years. He has absolutely
done everything he can and added layers to his game every single season, and he is performing at a top level. They
are each giving their best effort.
How much would Tottenham have to pay for Mbeumo?
Bryan Mbeumo is the striker who has been most frequently linked to a Tottenham move out of the two, and it would
seem that the Spurs are more likely to make a move for him this summer.
Football Insider stated in February that a bid beyond £50 million would be required to entice Mbeumo to leave
Brentford.
Although it’s unclear if the Bees’ asking price has increased since then, RMC Sport reports that Tottenham would
likely face competition for the forward as Man United and Arsenal are also interested in Mbeumo.
