Three Brentford Players Thomas Frank Might Bring to Tottenham as Manager

Tottenham appears poised for some changes this summer, and if Thomas Frank succeeds Ange Postecoglou as manager, several familiar players could follow him from Brentford.

This week is anticipated to be pivotal for Tottenham Hotspur as they are expected to make decisions regarding manager Ange Postecoglou’s future in the near future.

Reports indicate that Postecoglou’s time at Spurs may be coming to an end, with expectations that the club will part ways with the 59-year-old.

Additionally, it’s been revealed that Tottenham has engaged in discussions with Brentford’s Thomas Frank. The Danish manager is among those considered as a potential replacement for Postecoglou, primarily due to Tottenham’s admiration for Frank’s capacity to develop young talent.

If Frank transitions to Hotspur Way, making player acquisitions will be paramount, particularly as the summer transfer window is open.

Here are three players Frank might bring with him from Brentford if he takes the role at Tottenham.

Bryan Mbeumo Could Enhance Tottenham’s Right-Sided Offense

One player Spurs fans are eager to see join Frank, should he move to N17, is Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. The Cameroonian international has made a significant impact at Brentford, netting 42 goals and providing 30 assists in 136 Premier League appearances.

In the 2024/25 season, Mbeumo achieved his highest scoring season in the top flight, with 20 goals and eight assists in 38 matches—outperforming any Tottenham player last season.

There have already been rumors of Tottenham pursuing Mbeumo for the 2025/26 season, with a supposed transfer fee of £50 million needed to pry the right winger from Gtech Community Stadium.

If Thomas Frank were to join Spurs, he might be able to convince Mbeumo to follow him, especially since Frank has acknowledged that Mbeumo may be sold this summer, but only at the right price. However, convincing him could be challenging, as the player has shown interest in joining Manchester United.

Yoane Wissa: A Possible Replacement for Richarlison at Spurs

Tottenham is actively searching for another striker as they aim to fortify three areas of their squad this season. The club recently faced disappointment after losing out on Liam Delap, who looks set to join Chelsea following their payment of his release clause.

Richarlison is reportedly contemplating his future at Tottenham, seeking a more stable spot on the Brazilian national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup. This situation places Spurs in urgent need of another forward, and Frank could facilitate the acquisition of Yoane Wissa, who has performed admirably this season with 19 goals and five assists in 35 Premier League games.

Brentford is said to be open to offers for Wissa, who is valued much less than Mbeumo due to his age, as he will be turning 29 soon.

Tottenham has been monitoring Wissa for quite some time, and if they manage to bring Thomas Frank on board this summer, they may finally make a move for the striker.

Mikkel Damsgaard Could Provide Depth in Midfield for Tottenham

Mikkel Damsgaard is another player Tottenham showed interest in during the summer of 2020, and with Frank potentially replacing Postecoglou, he could help bring Damsgaard to Hotspur Way this summer.

While some might argue that it’s rather late for Spurs to pursue the midfielder, Damsgaard played a crucial role in Frank’s plans, participating in all 38 Premier League matches last season. He also proved to be a creative asset, assisting on 10 goals throughout the league campaign.

Given Spurs’ need for a midfielder to support James Maddison—who tends to struggle with injuries each season—Damsgaard, at 24, could serve as an excellent backup should he join Frank at Tottenham.
