Tottenham defender admits he’s gone and takes shot at Daniel Levy in the process

Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur have long had good reason to dislike chairman Daniel Levy, who has elevated a rather repugnant figure above all at one of the most illustrious clubs in the Premier League. And only he has the ability to spoil the celebrations of winning the Europa League trophy in North London by abruptly firing manager Ange Postecoglou, who was instrumental in the success, after needlessly keeping him in the dark for weeks, including during a family vacation.

Numerous people have grown weary of Levy’s management style at Tottenham. Even fans of clubs other than Tottenham would like to see the backside of Levy, since what he’s done at the club is a disgrace to the entire sport.

After firing such a well-liked coach, there are undoubtedly a lot of bad feelings toward Levy and the team in the dressing room right now, but the way Levy manages things is also having an impact on players who are in a similar state of uncertainty as Postecoglou was.

Consider Ben Davies, a seasoned defender. Given his professionalism and everything he has contributed to the team, Tottenham should at least show some respect for him even though it makes sense to let him go this offseason as a free agent.

Ange Postecoglou isn’t the only one Tottenham are disrespecting

Yet Davies remains fully in the dark regarding his future, and it’s now June. His public comments make it plain that Levy and the club are at fault, and that the level of professionalism from the club itself has plummeted to frustratingly low standards.

According to Wales Online’s Alex Ridout, Davies stated To be honest, I don’t believe anything has to be updated. As far as I am concerned, this week is all about Wales because I don’t think I will be the one making any of those decisions.

Davies will obviously not return to Tottenham for the upcoming season at this stage. Pretty much every supporter predicted that despite the 50/50 transfer rumors, at least initially. Davies himself has come to terms with his departure. But why is it taking so long if he is really gone and his chapter is closed? Furthermore, why hasn’t the club had the grace to inform Davies of the situation?

It’s as though things are getting worse with the chairman over time, instead of him listening to the very obvious criticisms that have been made of him and his club by their own fans over the years. Davies’s situation may not make national headlines like the sacking of Big Ange, but it’s still another symptom of the larger disease that continues to proliferate through the walls of N17. Levy seems to believe that there is no need to tell people where they stand, to keep them in limbo, and to disrespect figures who have dedicated their lives to Tottenham Hotspur and are adored by the supporters and their teammates.
