Tottenham injury, suspension list and return dates for Nottingham Forest: James Maddison, Son latest
On Easter Monday, Tottenham Hotspur will play Nottingham Forest at home in the Premier League after an incredible victory that may have granted Ange Postecoglou a stay of execution.
In Thursday’s Europa League quarterfinal second leg, the Lilywhites overcame their recent Premier League results to defeat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0. A penalty kick from Dominic Solanke gave Postecoglou’s team a 2-1 aggregate victory.
Given that Tottenham is currently in a pitiful 15th place in the league, 11 points outside of the top half, what happens in the Premier League is essentially irrelevant for the Lilywhites.
Ahead of Tottenham’s matchup with Forest, who are still in fourth place in the standings and on track to qualify for the Champions League, Sports Mole compiles the most recent injury and suspension news.
Status: Serious uncertainty
Injury type: Hip
Date of potential return: April 21 (against Forest)
After being completely destroyed by Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos on Thursday night, which resulted in Spurs winning the game-winning penalty, James Maddison played on for a while before retiring due to what appeared to be a hip injury.
It is impossible to rule out the Englishman making an appearance at the City Ground, though, since Postecoglou confirmed at full time that he was “fine.”
Radu Dragusin, a Romanian defender, had a severe ACL injury at the beginning of the season and is unlikely to return before the end of the year.
Status: Serious uncertainty
Injury type: Foot
Date of potential return: April 21 (against Forest)
Due to a foot issue that has been bothering him for a few weeks, Son Heung-min was not in the lineup against Frankfurt. It is still unclear if he will be available for the weekend.
