As the first company to get both Menopause Friendly and Menstruation Friendly Accreditations, the Club is
honoured to have set a significant new standard for workplace wellness.
We have been praised for our outstanding leadership in eliminating stigma, promoting cultural change, and making
sure all staff members feel appreciated and supported by acknowledging and embracing both menopause and
menstruation.
In order to demonstrate that comprehensive predictive health and support should be at the core of workplace
wellbeing, we are working to clear the path for additional businesses to follow.
Our Head of HR and EDI, Zoe Shackleton, commented:
In the birthday honours list, we are honoured to be named the Menopause and Menstruation Friendly Pioneer. We
had no clue how revolutionary receiving the Menopause Friendly Employer accreditation would be, both inside and
outside of the football world, when we became the first football club to do so three years ago.
Our top goal has always been to promote the health and well-being of our employees and to attend to their specific
needs.
“Having an open and continuous conversation about menopause and menstruation is really empowering and has
helped our colleagues get support and assistance from both internal and external sources that they might not have
otherwise been able to get.
“These accreditations are now firmly embedded in what we value, and we are proud to play a role in continuing to
raise awareness and remove longstanding stigma and taboo around these subjects.”
