Transfer Deadline Day: What Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are working on today

The two Premier League teams under increased pressure to finalize agreements before the Club World Cup are Chelsea and Manchester City.

Ahead of the 2025–2026 Premier League season, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur face a truncated Deadline Day this evening due to a revamped transfer market. Date changes for the transfer window have resulted from the enlarged Club World Cup in the United States. On June 1, the first small window began, and on Tuesday, June 10, it will close at 7 p.m. BST.

In order to assist clubs getting ready for the Club World Cup in adding players to their rosters, the early week of business was authorized. Only Chelsea and Manchester City are excluded from the Premier League, but throughout the last nine days, all clubs have been permitted to do business.

This year’s split is noteworthy because FIFA regulations stipulate that a transfer window can’t last more than 16 weeks. After two days of the Club World Cup, the transfer window will reopen on Monday, June 16.
