Transfer news: Sunderland set for reported £51m double blow amid Bournemouth update

Sources claim that following a largely successful start to their summer transfer activity, Sunderland may be in for a

double blow in the market in the coming days.

On Wednesday, the Black Cats confirmed the acquisition of Chemsdine Talbi, a Moroccan superstar, closing their

fifth deal of the window. Following reports that the two clubs had agreed on a deal for roughly £20.5 million,

Brighton & Hove Albion winger Simon Adingra might soon follow Talbi to Wearside.

Other recent updates on apparent targets have been less promising, however, with suggestions that touted duo

Djordje Petrovic and Georges Mikautadze may not be headed to the Stadium of Light.

Bournemouth close in on Djordje Petrovic transfer

Regarding Petrovic, Sunderland was rumoured to be nearing an agreement to acquire the Chelsea custodian last
week, but a series of announcements in the days that followed appear to have ended any chance of the Serbian
moving to the North East.

According to a Thursday morning story on X by transfer source Fabrizio Romano, Premier League opponents

Bournemouth have apparently almost secured the 25-year-old’s services, and a contract is expected soon.

“Bournemouth is confident to get Djordje Petrovic deal done after the official bid sent on Wednesday was revealed,”

Romano stated. Keep in mind that Petrović has already promised to transfer to Bournemouth. Chelsea’s final

clearance is anticipated shortly.

Romano doesn’t go into detail about Petrovic’s asking price, but according to a recent story from The Telegraph, he might bring up to £25 million this summer.

Sunderland put off by Georges Mikautadze price tag

According to a recent rumour, Sunderland may also lose out on Georges Mikautadze, a striker for Lyon, because of

the French team’s assessment of the Georgian player.

In recent days, the Black Cats have been linked to an audacious move for the 24-year-old, but any chances of enticing

him to the Stadium of Light this summer may be dashed by a high asking price.

summer expert Sacha Tavolieri claims that although Sunderland’s stated interest in the player is real, their budget

might not be able to cover the roughly £25.9 million Lyon is requesting following a free-spending start to the

summer season.

“Despite sincere interest and some attempts to discuss the terms of a deal, Georges Mikautadze’s transfer currently

looks too expensive for Sunderland AFC,” Tavolieri said on X. For their striker, Black Cats have a budget of €20

million [£17.2 million], but OL would only entertain starting negotiations at €30 million [£25.9 million].
