Travis Kelce to join Hollywood stars at charity event amid return to spotlight after Taylor Swift downtime

At the end of May, Travis Kelce and his Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes will join a number of Hollywood superstars at a charity function in Kansas City.
The Chiefs players will participate in the ‘Big Slick’ event, which will take place over the weekend of May 29–31, to help raise money for Children’s Mercy, a pediatric hospital in Kansas City, the event confirmed on Wednesday.
For the benefit, Kelce and Mahomes will be joining event hosts Heidi Gardner, David Koechner, Jason Sudeikis, and Paul Rudd.
The three-time Super Bowl champion and all-around great, who caught the longest pass across T-Mobile Center, will be joining 2025! Travis, welcome back! The Big Slick account announced Mahomes on X Wednesday, saying, “The star tight end is bringing big energy and big heart to support the kids.”
After keeping quiet with girlfriend Taylor Swift following the Super Bowl in February, Kelce’s return to the spotlight seems to be ongoing.
Before they reappeared in Philadelphia on Sunday for a Mother’s Day dinner with the Kelce family, they had not been spotted together for months.
Prior to that, Kelce and Swift had been enjoying some time away from the spotlight. Kelce was in New York on Monday night to attend an Amazon Prime event with his older brother Jason.
This was the first time Swift had time to relax following her lengthy Eras Tour dates, and it also gave him a chance to refuel after the demands of a demanding NFL season.
Meanwhile, Kelce’s focus on the 2025 NFL season comes into sharper focus this week as the league announces the schedule for the upcoming campaign, though it does not make for the Chiefs star’s favorite reading to date.
In addition to playing against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving and the Denver Broncos on Christmas Day, he may also have to travel to Brazil for his 36th birthday on October 5, which is a Sunday.
Based on his comments on New Heights this week, Kelce expressed dissatisfaction with having to begin the season in South America, saying,
“There’s just something about getting close to the equator, I don’t want to put on football uniforms.” “I’ve been in Jacksonville in September, that’s f***ing miserable.”
Is that by the river, Sao Paulo? I’m a sweaty person, therefore I’d prefer it to be dry. I will be miserable if it is humid. However, I’m going to figure out a method to win.
“I am going to be perspiring a lot,” he added.
I’ll need to request a few jerseys and possibly three pairs of pants from the equipment guys. I might just go through a pair of cleats, maybe four.
The Chiefs are also likely to be headed back to New York for Week 3, playing the Giants at MetLife Stadium.
