Francisco Sierralta ‘is leaving’ Watford to join AJ Auxerre during the summer transfer window.

According to La Tercera from Chile, the Ligue 1 club has expressed interest in the 28-year-old.

According to reports, the French club will pay Watford $3.4 million [€3 million] to sign the centre-back.

La Tercera makes it clear that this information is gathered by El Deportivo, the sports section. It is claimed that the Watford player will sign a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.

The Chile international has logged just over 2,000 minutes in 35 games for the Hornets this season, including 21 starts in the Championship.

According to his entourage, a move to Auxerre will allow Sierralta to play more regularly next season. They believe that would not have been possible at Vicarage Road because squads in England are larger due to the increased number of games.

Auxerre finished 11th in the Ligue 1 table, and Sierralta can join them in the top division next season. Watford, on the other hand, will remain in the Championship.

The Chilean joined the English club in September 2020 and has played 123 games for them.
