‘We cannot afford to’ – Blackburn Rovers fired transfer warning regarding 27-year-old
According to Edward Iordanescu, head coach of Legia Warsaw, they “cannot afford” to lose Steve Kapuadi, a target
for Blackburn Rovers.
This summer, Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing the defender. Ahead of the upcoming season, Rovers are
looking to add some new players.
Kapuadi, 27, has been a member of Legia Warsaw since 2023. Since then, he has made 78 appearances for the Polish
powerhouses across all competitions, contributing eight goals from the back.
According to the Lancashire Telegraph, their manager Iordanescu recently told TVPSSPORT.PL: “I would like him to
extend his contract.” We can’t risk losing this player. We conducted an analysis when I arrived at the club, and I
would like to know more about his situation as soon as possible.
“I am aware that we must respond to any possible setback. Because every shock is bad for the team, stability is
important to me. Our supporters deserve to see the best players because they have great expectations.
Blackburn Rovers had already made an attempt to acquire midfielder Sidnei Tavares from Moreirense and wing-
back Dion De Neve from KV Kortrijk. Over the next months, they will have the opportunity to sign more players.
Blackburn Rovers latest regarding Legia Warsaw’s Steve Kapuadi
Kapuadi might be someone Blackburn Rovers could use to strengthen their defence. Legia Warsaw seems to be
retaining their position, but Rovers may use another option at the back.
Over the past two years, the DR Congo international—who has one cap—has been a vital member of his current
team. He recently assisted them in winning the Polish Cup.
Kapuadi started his career at Zulte Waregem in Belgium before he was snapped up by Gent. He then had spells as a
youngster at Inter Bratislava and AS Trencin.
He moved over to Poland in 2022 and spent 12 months at Wisla Plock. He then linked up with Legia Warsaw and
hasn’t looked back since.
What now for Blackburn Rovers and Steve Kapuadi?
Blackburn Rovers must make wise hiring decisions during this window. The Rovers are getting ready for Valerien
Ismael’s first full season in charge.
Given his recent success in the Ekstraklasa, Kapuadi might be prepared to try his hand in a different league and
nation. Ismael will be considering his choices, but if Legia Warsaw commits him to an extension, he might have to
find other candidates for his post.
It remains to be seen if Rovers can entice him to England. As they prepare for the upcoming semester, they have
resumed their preseason training.
