West Brom Have Clear Transfer Plan Once Tom Fellows Departs – A Move That Will Delight Tony Mowbray

EFL Analysis can reveal that West Bromwich Albion expect attacker Tom Fellows to leave The Hawthorns this summer, amid strong interest from Everton.

West Brom’s hopes of securing Premier League promotion via the play-offs suffered a major blow on Friday, as the Baggies were defeated 2-0 by divisional rivals Coventry City.

It was a disappointing showing from Tony Mowbray’s side, who failed to register a single shot on target — even with the attacking presence of Tom Fellows on the pitch.

The 21-year-old currently leads the Championship in assists with 13, to go along with two goals, and has caught the attention of several top-flight clubs.

Mowbray has backed Fellows for the Premier League — and with good reason — as one club now appears confident of securing a deal for the talented winger.

West Brom Expect Fellows to Leave This Summer

Everton made a move for Fellows in January, though claims of a £10 million agreement with the Toffees were exaggerated.

Nevertheless, David Moyes remains keen to make Fellows one of his first signings this summer. Speaking exclusively to EFL Analysis, transfer expert Graeme Bailey suggests a move to Merseyside is “likely.”

> “The expectation at West Brom is that Fellows will go. If they get promoted, there’s a chance he stays, but in terms of PSR, the sale would be hugely beneficial,” Bailey said.

> “Fellows is such a talent. I truly believe those who don’t watch the Championship don’t realise just how good he is.

> “He came very close to joining Everton and David Moyes in January, and from what I’m told, he’s likely to move to Goodison Park — or Bramley-Moore Dock — this summer.”

While West Brom supporters will be disappointed to see Fellows leave, they’ll be encouraged by the fact that Mowbray is expected to receive most of the transfer funds to strengthen his squad.

> “With Fellows gone, I expect Tony Mowbray will be entrusted with the majority of that money to help build the squad,” Bailey added.

Fellows’ Impact at West Brom

Fellows has brought a mix of tenacity, creativity, and flair to West Brom’s wide areas, becoming a key contributor to their play-off push.

After the defeat to Coventry, pundit Lee Hendrie offered a bleak outlook on West Brom’s play-off hopes, and being six points off sixth place with three games remaining seems too steep a hill to climb.

| Team | MP | W | D | L | GD | Pts |

|—————-|—-|—-|—-|—-|—-|——|

| 6. Coventry | 43 | 19 | 9 | 15 | 7 | 66 |

| 7. Middlesbrough| 43 | 18 | 9 | 16 | 11 | 63 |

| 8. West Brom | 43 | 14 | 18 | 11 | 10 | 60 |

| 9. Millwall | 43 | 16 | 12 | 15 | -3 | 60 |

Mowbray’s side have faltered at the crucial stage, winning just one of their last seven matches — though Fellows has continued to produce in the final third.
