West Ham can cover €25-30m transfer fee – Excitement building over potential Hammers move

West Ham’s interest in Cagliari striker Roberto Piccoli was covered by Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport on Thursday.

The Italian, who spent the 2024–25 season at Cagliari on loan from Atalanta, reportedly made initial enquiries about joining the Hammers.

Sardinian newspaper La Nuova Sardegna, as conveyed by TuttoCagliari, report today regarding West Ham’s interest in Piccoli.

They give Graham Potter’s team hope by asserting that the London club is unlikely to face a “insurmountable obstacle” due to Cagliari’s asking price of €25–30 million.

According to TuttoCagliari, journalist Giuseppe Boi of Il Tirreno has additional details.

According to him, West Ham should be able to give €25 million, giving them a competitive edge over Benfica, who will find it difficult to satisfy Cagliari’s demands.

The Italian side would receive a large profit gain from the sale of the 24-year-old. For €12 million, the striker left Atalanta last month to join permanently.

For a team that isn’t known for paying large fees, that is pretty steep, and it indicates how desperate Cagliari is to sell. They are promoting an auction for the striker if anything.
