West Yorkshire Police Appeal to Locate Missing Teenager, Mohammed Ibrahim

West Yorkshire Police have issued a public appeal for help in locating a missing teenager, Mohammed Ibrahim, who is believed to be in the Wakefield area. Officers are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Mohammed, also known by the name Ibby Hussain, is just 14 years old and originally from South Yorkshire. He was last seen on Thursday, 17 April 2025, and efforts to trace him have so far been unsuccessful. The teenager is described as being of a small build, and at the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black tracksuit and black high-top trainers.

Police have stated that Mohammed is known to spend time in various areas of Wakefield, particularly around Lupset and Eastmoor. He also has links to the city centre, where he is thought to frequently visit. Officers are conducting extensive enquiries in these locations as part of their ongoing search.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said:

*”We are growing increasingly concerned for Mohammed’s wellbeing and are appealing to members of the public for any information that could assist in locating him. He is still very young, and his family are extremely worried about his safety. Every piece of information, no matter how small, could prove vital.”*

Authorities have been liaising closely with Mohammed’s family, who are understandably distressed by his disappearance. They are appealing directly to Mohammed as well, urging him to get in touch and let someone know that he is safe.

*”Mohammed, if you are reading this, please know that you are not in any trouble. We just want to make sure you are okay,”* added the spokesperson. *”Please contact your family, a trusted adult, or the police so we know you are safe.”*

In cases involving missing children, time is of the essence. West Yorkshire Police are calling on the Wakefield community to remain alert and to report any potential sightings or information that could help locate Mohammed. Posters and online appeals have been shared across local networks and social media platforms, and officers continue to canvass the areas where Mohammed is believed to spend time.

Anyone who sees a person matching Mohammed’s description or who may have information about his whereabouts is urged to contact police in Wakefield immediately. Reports can be made by calling 101 or by using the live chat feature on the West Yorkshire Police website.

West Yorkshire Police have reiterated the importance of community involvement in such cases and expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from local residents. With the help of the public, they remain hopeful that Mohammed will be found safe and well.
