What Heung-min Son has said about Coventry City with James Maddison as bizarre footage emerges

What Heung-min Son said about James Maddison and Coventry City as strange video surfaces

Video of former Spurs captain Heung-min Son making jokes about Coventry City with teammate James Maddison during practice has surfaced via X. Maddison began his career with the Sky Blues at the age of 17, and Coventry supporters adore him. The 28-year-old, who was born and raised in the city, rose through the levels until being selected for the first squad in 2014–15. After two and a half years with the team, Maddison made 42 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and dishing out five assists. In February 2016, he was transferred to Norwich City, another Championship team.

Video of former Spurs star Heung-min Son joking with Maddison at training has surfaced, demonstrating how his strong ties to his hometown team have clearly influenced his colleagues. Son and Madison look to be having a light-hearted talk in the gym in a video that was just posted on X, but the subject matter is a little strange. Maddison asked Son, “You’re leaving to go to Coventry?” since Son’s future was now set at LAFC.

“Come on Coventry army!” was the famous chant heard throughout the West Midlands in response to the South Korean international. “He’s (Maddison) just obsessed with Coventry,” the son went on. I only recently began to follow them. Even though Son recently left to pursue his career in Los Angeles after ten seasons with the North London club, Maddison, who is still a devoted supporter of his boyhood club, appears to have found another Sky Blues fan.

Maddison continued in the video, “Last year, he threatened to text me if Coventry gave in or anything. Son interrupted right away, saying, “As usual, excellent outcome! I would also take a screenshot and forward it to you. Maddison teasingly grabbed his partner’s training vest and laughed off Son’s remark. Maddison has had a successful career thus far, rising from modest beginnings to stardom while playing in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City.

In addition to winning the Community Shield, FA Cup, and Europa League, he has also earned a few caps for England in recent years. But the attacking midfielder hasn’t lost sight of his origins. His early career was shaped by his two and a half years at Coventry City, where Sky Blues supporters saw him as a future star, which has since turned out to be the case. Coventry supporters will be thrilled to see Maddison still maintain strong ties to his hometown team and community, as evidenced by Son’s video. They will also keep their former fan favourite in the highest esteem.
