When does the transfer window open? When can Celtic, Rangers and rivals begin to make 25/26 transfers.

When can Scottish Premiership clubs begin making transfers, and when does the summer transfer window close?
After the Scottish Premiership season, fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming transfer window and their starting lineups for the 2025/25 season.
Rangers’ takeover from the Andrew Cavanagh-led consortium has Ibrox regulars excited for incoming transfers, while Celtic fans hope for big name additions to continue their dominance in the Scottish Premiership.
Hibs, Dundee United, and Aberdeen fans will be eager to see who their clubs target after qualifying for Europe, while newly promoted sides Falkirk and Livingston will be hoping to do enough in the transfer market to re-establish themselves in the top flight.
But when does the Scottish Premiership transfer window officially open, and how much time do clubs have to sign players before the deadline?
Here’s everything you should know about the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership summer transfer window:

When does the Scottish Premiership transfer window open for 2025/26?
The transfer window will be divided into two parts due to the FIFA World Club Cup, which is unusual.
The Scottish Premiership, like the English Premier League and several other major leagues, opens its transfer window early this year. It officially opened today (June 1) due to a ‘exceptional registration period’, which allows participating clubs to sign players for the FIFA Club World Cup. This window will close on Tuesday, June 10.
The Scottish Premiership transfer window will reopen on Monday, June 16.
When does the transfer window close in the UK, and when is the transfer deadline day?
The transfer window for Scottish Premiership, English Premier League, and EFL clubs will close on Monday, September 1 at 7 p.m. BST.
The term ‘deal sheet’ is becoming more common on deadline day, owing to the number of last-minute deals that are frequently made in the run-up to the window closing. A deal sheet effectively means that if two clubs reach an agreement late in the day, the Scottish FA may grant additional time to complete and submit relevant documentation and paperwork. This can be sent to the authorities to indicate that a transfer agreement was reached. This gives clubs an extra two hours to complete the remaining paperwork that will seal the deal.
Additional examples include:
League agreements allow clubs to agree on transfers with teams from other leagues that have closed their transfer windows, and then complete the deals when their own window opens.
Free agents are an obvious exception. If a player is without a club and available as a free agent, clubs in Scotland can sign and register him without restriction.
In emergency situations, a team may be able to sign a player outside of the transfer window with special dispensation. The most obvious example is that if a team has multiple injured goalkeepers, it may be able to make an emergency loan.
