Tony Bloom is currently on the minds of Hearts fans as the Brighton chairman looks to expand into Scottish football.

The Tynecastle club has confirmed that a UK entrepreneur has proposed an investment of £9.86 million in Hearts. In exchange, he will receive a 29% stake in the club through non-voting shares, and a consultation period with the club’s majority shareholders, the Foundation of Hearts, will commence.

With Brighton and another club Bloom has invested in, Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, having achieved success since his involvement, Gorgie fans are excited about what he could do in Scotland. But who is this new investor, and why do they want to invest in Hearts? We take a look.
