Why would Celtic be willing to pay Girona £5million for Bojan Miovski, yet they wouldn’t pay Aberdeen that kind of money for him?

The Recordtoday is reporting that Celtic are interested in signing Bojan Miovski. Mark Pirie wrote the story, although not much of it makes sense.
In reality, the only thing he exposes in the tale is how Celtic will compete for the Macedonian striker. There is no clear evidence in the rumour that Celtic is truly interested in purchasing Miovski. Now, before Miovski departed for Girona, I was a strong supporter of signing him.
He was prolific for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, so he could have done well with Celtic.

However, as has often been the case with Celtic and the acquisition of players from other Scottish teams, our board most certainly baulked at the asking amount Aberdeen was seeking.
Either that, or we just didn’t feel Miovski was good enough to play for us.
This is why today’s Record piece makes no sense. If we were unwilling to pay Aberdeen’s price last year, why would we be willing to pay it again? Especially given Miovski’s terrible season at Girona in La Liga.
He only scored two goals over the entire campaign. Yet we’re supposed to be interested in signing him for a cost comparable to what Aberdeen demanded when they put him on the market. This does not make logical sense. If we wouldn’t pay that much for him in Aberdeen, why would Mark Pirie think we’d pay it in Girona? Only he can answer, because as his story unfolds, you can see its all pie in the sky.
Personally, I believe Miovski could still do a job for us.
He knows our league pretty well.
And he scored plenty of goals for a run of the mill Aberdeen side.
Put him in a Celtic side with quality all around him, and the chances are he’s be pretty prolific again in Scotland.
However, I’m also a realist, and I know there’s no way our board would be willing to pay £5million for Miovski.
Which is why this story makes no sense to me.
I sincerely doubt that Celtic have declared any interest in Bojan Miovski.

This story is unlikely to develop any further. And, I believe Girona will struggle to sell Miovski owing to his terrible performance there.
If Brendan Rodgers was interested in bringing him to Celtic, he’d look at it very carefully. Perhaps I’m wrong? Perhaps Rodgers thinks Miovski can help us? However, no tangible proof exists to support this claim.
In truth, Mark Pirie created his story out of thin air. If you read the item he links to on the AS website, there are no references to the information Pirie provided in his essay.
He said Celtic were namechecked by AS as an interested party, they are not.
Read the article and see for yourself. Pirie also claimed Girona paid £6.8 million for Miovski.
AS said they paid €5 million (£4.3 million). Finally, Pirie believes that Miovski is worth £5 million. AS absolutely rejects it, claiming he is only worth €3 million (£2.3 million).
I know which media outlet I’d choose to believe. And it isn’t the one from Scotland, which is known for making up stuff.
Needless to say, Bojan Miovski is unlikely to join Celtic. Even if the price is only £2.3 million. Simply because there is no foundation to this story.
