Miller hopes Jimmy Thelin’s team will quickly improve in order to prevent a recurrence of the 6-0 thrashing in the

League Cup semi-final.

Willie Miller acknowledges that he has a phobia of the Scottish Cup Final after witnessing Aberdeen’s collapse in the

second half at Ibrox.

With two games left in the Premiership season, Barry Ferguson’s team scored four goals without a response after

Jimmy Thelin’s team played a lacklustre first forty-five minutes against Rangeras. This was the interim manager’s

first home victory.

The Dons have now suffered back to back defeats since beating Hibs at Pittodrie, and they’ll likely have to take

something against Celtic in midweek if they are to retain a realistic hope of overhauling the Hibees in third place.

If they lose, they will only be able to secure a spot in the European League Phase the following season if they shock

manager.

Miller, a Pittodrie icon, feels that possibility appears as far as ever based on his personal observations.

If the Reds perform like they did against the other side of Glasgow, Miller fears they could be in for more of the same.

Celtic gave them a six-goal thrashing the last time the two teams faced off at the national stadium.

On the pitch of play, they lacked the guidance and leadership necessary to genuinely say, “Look, guys, we need to get

a little tighter here.” On BBC Sportsound, he stated, “We need to get a little bit more solid here.”

“This is an issue. We need a little assistance from your two sitting midfield players in front of the two centre backs.

Don’t rush forward, you two full backs. Wait till we have the ball in there if we don’t already have it.

“Listen, the second half performance was incredibly haphazard and ill-prepared. It’s concerning, especially in light of

the performance against St. Mirren. Entering a cup final is concerning.

“I am aware that we have two more games before then, and Aberdeen has the chance to get some momentum.

However, they don’t currently have it. And the way they simply collapsed in the second half is really worrisome.

Therefore, they still have a fantastic chance to end the season in the cup final.

“But if they play like anything like that, anything close like that with Celtic on form, they will be taken apart.”
