Woman, 37, from Cardiff Goes Missing as Two People Arrested

A 37-year-old woman from Cardiff has been reported missing, prompting a major police investigation and the arrest of two individuals. Paria Veisi, described by loved ones as kind, dependable, and full of life, was last seen on Saturday afternoon after finishing her shift at work in the Canton area of Cardiff.

South Wales Police confirmed on Thursday that two people have been arrested in connection with her disappearance. Authorities have also located her car, though they have not disclosed where or in what condition it was found.

Paria’s disappearance has been described as “totally out of character” by both her family and police. She was last seen at around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, leaving her place of work. It is believed she was due to meet friends later that evening but never arrived. Her phone has been switched off since that afternoon, and there has been no activity on her social media accounts since.

A photograph released by her family shows Paria smiling beside her golden Labrador, a dog she is said to adore and regularly walks in local parks. Her family say it is completely unlike her to vanish without making contact.

Detective Chief Inspector Claire Price, who is leading the investigation, said:

“Paria’s disappearance is deeply concerning, and we are doing everything possible to understand what has happened to her. She is a much-loved daughter, friend, and colleague, and her sudden disappearance is highly unusual. We are treating this as a high-risk missing person case and following all lines of enquiry.”

DCI Price also confirmed that two individuals—whose identities have not been disclosed—were arrested earlier this week and are currently being questioned. Police have not revealed what charges, if any, are being considered at this stage.

Officers have been seen conducting door-to-door enquiries in the Canton and nearby Grangetown areas, while specialist search teams have been deployed in surrounding green spaces and riverbanks. CCTV footage from local businesses and traffic cameras is also being reviewed in hopes of tracking Paria’s movements after she left work.

Paria’s colleagues at a local optician’s clinic where she worked said she seemed “her usual self” on the day she disappeared. One co-worker said, *“She was chatting and laughing with us right until she left. None of us can believe this is happening.”

A family statement released on Wednesday pleaded for information:

“Paria is a loving and thoughtful person who brings joy to everyone around her. If anyone knows anything at all about where she might be, please come forward. We just want her home safe.”*

South Wales Police are urging anyone with information—no matter how minor it may seem—to get in touch. They are especially keen to speak with anyone who may have seen Paria’s car or witnessed anything unusual in the Canton area on Saturday afternoon.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Wales Police on 101, quoting reference number 2400123456.

As the investigation continues, the Cardiff community has rallied in support of the search efforts, with posters appearing in shop windows and community groups organizing leaflet drops in the local area.
