Wycombe Wanderers have signed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder George Abbott on a season’s loan
The 19-year-old spent the 2024-25 season on loan at League Two club Notts County, where he appeared in 40 league games and scored five goals, including the EFL goal of the season against Accrington Stanley in January.
Abbott, who can play in defence or midfield, joined Tottenham at the age of seven and has three England Under-18 caps.
“George is a really exciting player in the middle of the park, and we’re delighted that he’s chosen to come here over other clubs to continue his progress in his career,” said Mike Dodds, head coach of Wycombe, on the team’s external website.

“Comfortable as a 6 receiving from the defence or higher up the pitch as a running number 8, George gives us another option in the strong midfield group we already have here at the club,” Wycombe’s director of football, Tom Stockwell, continued.
Wycombe lost to Bradford City to start their 2025–26 League One season.
On Saturday, they play Stockport County, the losing play-off semi-finalists from the previous season, at home.
