Beşiktaş is now attempting to sign Zeki Amdouni from Burnley, and the trade has piqued the interest of the club’s fans.

There have been social media campaigns to persuade the player, inspired by one of his parents being Turkish and a photo circulating of him wearing a Beşiktaş shirt as a child.

Amdouni spent last season on loan with Benfica. He had a mixed time with the Lisbon club, and they did not activate their clause to sign him. This presents a possibility for Beşiktaş and other clubs interested in signing the Burnley player.

According to Wednesday’s issue of Sabah, the Super Lig team is desperate to complete the transfer of the 24-year-old, but they believe Burnley’s asking price is too expensive.

The Clarets are reportedly asking for €20 million, and Beşiktaş has responded by saying they will merely loan him instead. That does not look to be a positive development in negotiations for Burnley, who will want the money to add to their own transfer fund. Beşiktaş will most likely have to consider again.
