Mark Flekken of Brentford has verbally agreed to a deal with Bayer Leverkusen through 2028 as the team looks to bolster their roster before competing against Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title the following season.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Flekken has “already given the green light” for the transfer; Bayer Leverkusen just has to work out a deal with the Premier League team, with a price range of €10–€14 million being considered.

When Brentford signs and finds a replacement will determine when Leverkusen can make the announcement that Flekken has joined. The Dutchman kept eight clean sheets in 37 appearances last season, playing in every league game save one.
According to Plettenberg, Flekken is prepared to advance in his career. The Bayer Leverkusen recruitment team selected the 31-year-old as one of three goalkeepers. The former Freiburg goalie has appeared in 80 Bundesliga games and seven Europa League games, giving him a plethora of experience. He would be considered an improvement over Matej Kovar (25, Contract till 2027) and Lukas Hradecky (35, Contract until 2026), who shared the No. 1 shirt the previous season.
