J.T. Realmuto drove in three runs with a sixth-inning double, while Zack Wheeler delivered a dominant outing with 10 strikeouts over six shutout innings, as the Philadelphia Phillies closed out their series against the Detroit Tigers with a 5-0 victory on Sunday, heading into the All-Star break on a winning note.
Wheeler (10-1) surrendered only two hits in his first start since voicing disappointment over being left off the All-Star roster following his previous appearance on the mound.
Tarik Skubal (5-5) lasted five-plus innings, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk, with five strikeouts.

After Bryce Harper reached on an infield single to lead off the sixth, Tigers skipper A.J. Hinch pulled the two-time Cy Young Award winner and brought in Keider Montero. Realmuto then cleared the bases with a two-bagger and later came home on Bryson Stott’s single, stretching Philadelphia’s advantage to 5-0.
The scoring started in the third when Kyle Schwarber delivered a two-out RBI single on a full-count pitch off Skubal, plating Realmuto, who had been hit by a pitch to open the frame.
On the other side, Wheeler kept Detroit’s offense in check throughout his outing.
