After missing three games due to illness, Philadelphia Phillies power hitter Kyle Schwarber is set to return for Friday’s matchup against the visiting Cleveland Guardians.

He will bat second in the lineup, following Trea Turner and preceding Bryce Harper, and will serve as the designated hitter.

Schwarber, who signed a five-year, $150 million deal with the Phillies in the offseason, is currently hitting .230 with a major-league-leading 20 home runs and 36 RBIs. Last season, he topped the National League with 56 homers and led all of MLB with 132 RBIs.
The three-time All-Star posted a .240 average with 111 runs scored and finished as the runner-up in NL MVP voting. At 33, Schwarber has solidified his reputation as one of baseball’s premier power threats. He has hit 207 home runs over four-plus seasons with Philadelphia and 360 total since beginning his career with the Chicago Cubs in 2015.
