Kentucky continues its recruitment of Momcilovic, with a decision possibly coming this weekend.
Last night brought significant news for the Kentucky Wildcats and several other college basketball programs: Milan Momcilovic, a top talent in the transfer portal, has pulled his name from the NBA Draft and will return to college basketball.
This development is a major boost for Mark Pope and the Wildcats, who are searching for one final addition to their roster. Momcilovic fits that need perfectly, as he could become the best shooter in college basketball next season.
The 6-foot-8 forward averaged close to 17 points per game at Iowa State last year, leading the nation with a 48.7 percent three-point shooting percentage on 7.5 attempts per game. For a team that has serious concerns about its outside shooting, Momcilovic would be an invaluable asset.

Kentucky, Louisville, and St. John’s appear to be the frontrunners for Momcilovic. Arizona has also been mentioned, but they may have entered the race a bit later and could have some catching up to do.
This recruitment is not only crucial for Mark Pope as he builds a roster capable of competing next season, but it also pits him against Louisville and Rick Pitino in a direct recruiting battle.
It’s unclear when Momcilovic will announce his decision, though it seems unlikely he’ll let the process drag on much longer.
Adam Zagoria has reported that a choice could come as soon as this weekend.
With the end of May approaching, it wouldn’t be surprising if an announcement arrives in the coming days.
