The Philadelphia Phillies currently rely on a veteran core with a singular focus on maximizing success at the Major League level. But eventually, mainstays like Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Trea Turner will no longer anchor the lineup. To prepare for that future, the organization needs to cultivate young talent capable of contributing in the big leagues.

Aidan Miller remains the Phillies’ top prospect, but he’s far from the only intriguing youngster. Outfielder Dante Nori is one player drawing attention from evaluators and scouts. A surprise first-round pick in 2024, Nori was often overlooked leading up to the draft due to his age he was nearly 20 as a high school prospect.
There were also concerns about the quality of competition he faced in Michigan, and a slow start to the 2025 season raised questions. However, after adjusting his approach at the plate, he finished the year strong and has carried that momentum into 2026.
According to Keith Law of The Athletic, “Nori does have some real feel to hit, in the sense of getting the bat to the ball the swing is pretty simple and short, with enough bat speed for him to swat line drives to the outfield, at least.” Nori showcased those skills during the World Baseball Classic with Team Italy, posting a .400/.435/.745 slash line with two home runs and one double over seven games and 20 plate appearances.
That compact swing has translated to a .285/.338/.455 line through his first 28 games and 134 plate appearances with Double-A Reading. Graded as a 55/60 runner, Nori has shown off his wheels with seven doubles, three triples, and seven stolen bases this season though he has also been caught six times, indicating a need for refinement on the bases.

His speed is equally evident on defense. Law highlighted a high-IQ play in which Nori, playing center field, was quick to back up a teammate who misplayed a ball in left, positioning himself to help far sooner than most outfielders would have, many of whom wouldn’t even have the awareness to be ready for such a play.
Nori clearly offers value right now with his contact skills, speed, and defense. Still, at 21 years old and standing 5-foot-9, it’s fair to wonder how much more physical development he has left.
