Kentucky has entered the mix for one of the premier shot-blockers in high school basketball.
This past weekend, the Kentucky Wildcats’ coaching staff was hard at work on the recruiting trail, handing out numerous scholarship offers.
Among them was an offer to a standout power forward in the 2027 class.
On Tuesday, Lewis Uvwo announced that he had received an offer from the Wildcats. The 6’10” power forward, who plays for Prolific Prep, has seen his stock rise faster than almost any other prospect in recent weeks.

Uvwo had an eventful weekend, cementing his reputation as one of the nation’s top shot blockers, averaging close to six blocks per game. He turned heads during the EYBL Memphis session, and that momentum has continued into the Atlanta session and beyond.
He’s drawn heavy interest from a host of schools, with offers already from USC, Oklahoma, Texas, UCLA, Ole Miss, BYU, Illinois, LSU, and Michigan.
Rivals ranks Uvwo as the No. 46 overall prospect in the 2027 class and the No. 6 power forward. Viewed as the top rim protector in high school basketball, the Kentucky staff knew they needed to act quickly in his recruitment.
