On Friday night, the Philadelphia Phillies will begin a series in California against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
They enter the matchup after a 3-0 victory over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday.
In that game, Adolis García, who batted seventh, went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

For Friday’s game, the Phillies have revealed their starting lineup.

García has been dropped to the eighth spot in the batting order.
The last time he batted eighth was on May 23.
Now in his first season with the Phillies, the 33-year-old is hitting just .201 with 38 hits, four home runs, 15 RBIs, 17 runs, and two stolen bases over 55 games.
Before joining the Phillies, García was coming off an impressive stint with the Texas Rangers, which included two MLB All-Star selections and a 2023 World Series title.
He has also played for the St. Louis Cardinals across eight total seasons.

The Phillies currently sit second in the National League East with a 29–27 record through 56 games.
They’ve won six of their last ten contests and hold a 15–11 mark in 26 road games.
After facing the Dodgers, the Phillies will return home to host the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.
