Kentucky Football lands 4-star lineman Dominic Black

On Wednesday, the Kentucky Wildcats secured a key addition to their 2027 recruiting class when four-star interior offensive lineman Dominic Black announced his commitment to the program. Hailing from New Madison, Ohio, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound prospect picked Kentucky over offers from Tennessee, Indiana, Louisville, Missouri, UCLA, and others. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Black is ranked No. 191 nationally, No. 19 among offensive tackles, and No. 7 overall in Ohio.

This commitment is a notable recruiting triumph for first-year head coach Will Stein and his staff, and it’s especially a big win for offensive line coach Cutter Leftwich. Kentucky’s push for Black started after he attended Junior Day in Lexington in mid-January, followed by an offer from offensive line assistant Paul Rodriguez on Jan. 30. From then on, Leftwich made Black a top recruiting focus.

Black made another unofficial trip to Kentucky in March, spending time with Stein and the coaching staff. Leftwich kept strengthening their connection and even visited Black at his high school during the spring evaluation period. The Wildcats faced stiff competition—defending national champion Indiana was seen as the biggest threat, while Tennessee, Michigan State, and Virginia Tech also stayed involved throughout.
