On Thursday, the Philadelphia Phillies traded two minor-league players outfielder Dylan Campbell and infielder Jose Colmenares to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for veteran outfielder Derek Hill. As part of the deal, the Phillies also received $250,000 in international bonus pool money. To clear a spot on their 40-man roster, Philadelphia designated right-handed pitcher Jackson Rutledge for assignment.

Meanwhile, the White Sox reinstated outfielder Everson Pereira from the 10-day injured list. Pereira, who suffered a right pectoral strain on April 28, is 22 years old and batting .250 with three homers and seven RBIs over 18 games in his debut season with Chicago.
Hill, 30, has hit .213 (17-for-80) with four home runs and eight RBIs in 50 games this year. Across 268 career games with the Tigers, Nationals, Rangers, Giants, Marlins, and White Sox, he owns a .227 average with 18 homers and 62 RBIs. He was originally selected by Detroit in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2014 MLB Draft.

Campbell, 23, was batting .216 with seven homers and 31 RBIs in 55 games for Philadelphia’s Double-A Reading affiliate. The Dodgers picked him in the fourth round of the 2023 draft and traded him to the Phillies in January 2025.
Colmenares, 24, a Venezuelan native, posted a .278 average with three homers and 19 RBIs in 36 games for High-A Jersey Shore before landing on the injured list on May 25 due to a UCL injury in his right thumb.

Rutledge, 27, had allowed seven runs in just 1⅓ innings across one relief outing for Washington this season before being claimed off waivers by the Phillies on May 10. At Triple-A Lehigh Valley, he went 0-0 with a 7.20 ERA over five relief appearances (five innings). Rutledge was Washington’s first-round pick (17th overall) in 2019 and, over parts of four seasons from 2023 to 2026, compiled a 5-3 record with a 6.29 ERA in 103 innings across 71 games (five starts).
