Top-10 recruit a 5-star basketball player offered by Kentucky Wildcats

Mark Pope remains highly active on the recruiting front. Along with his coaching staff, he has traveled extensively across the country to watch games on the AAU circuit.

Since the live recruiting period started earlier this month, Kentucky has extended offers to nearly 20 players. Among them is a new name for Wildcats fans to keep an eye on: Moussa Kamissoko, who announced this week that he’s received an offer from Kentucky.

Kamissoko is already regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2027 class, with a ranking as high as No. 4 overall by Rivals and the No. 1 spot among small forwards.

Moussa Kamissoko has significant two-way potential
Standing 6-foot-8 with long arms, Kamissoko is among the best defensive wings in his class. He possesses excellent timing when blocking shots, quick footwork to stay in front of players his size, and the leaping ability to contest shots and recover even when smaller guards blow past him.

Offensively, he can score at all three levels. He has a smooth jump shot and finishes comfortably above the rim against high school competition. Weighing just over 180 pounds, he’s still adding muscle and growing into his frame, but the raw talent is there for him to become a standout two-way player in college.

While he handles the ball well for his size, he’s not quite a point-forward at this stage. Still, given his dribbling skills, he could develop into a solid ball-handler at the collegiate level.

As is typical for one of the nation’s top recruits, Kentucky will face stiff competition for his commitment. Alabama, Illinois, and Louisville have already offered him. The New York native is loaded with talent, and the Wildcats are determined to bring him to Lexington.
