Bryce Noernberg’s Tenure at Kansas State Comes to an End
Noernberg served as one of Kansas State’s primary kick returners during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. According to a Wednesday social media post from his father, among other reports, he is no longer part of the Wildcats’ roster.

“It was an amazing couple of years in Manhattan, but then D1 College Football did what it does,” Noernberg’s father wrote. “New HC Collin Klein brought in all new coaches and players … paid them accordingly, and Bryce found himself at the bottom of the depth chart.”

The post references the hiring of first-year head coach and former K-State quarterback Collin Klein, who took over after longtime head coach Chris Klieman retired. Upon Klein’s arrival, he largely reshaped the roster and coaching staff a typical move for a new head coach.

Given that Klein joined the Wildcats following a brief stint at Texas A&M in the SEC, it’s reasonable to assume he brought in a higher level of talent.

“Well done, Bryce! I am so proud that you stood up to the system,” the post continued. “D1 athletics is in a very sad state, and it’s times like these that make you grow as a man!”

Bryce Noernberg’s Highlights at Kansas State
Noernberg’s role with the Wildcats was largely limited to occasional special teams appearances. His standout moment came last season against UCF, when he returned a second-quarter kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown.

In last year’s game against Kansas, he lost an early fumble that gave the Jayhawks a red-zone opportunity. Despite that, the Wildcats cruised to a 42-17 victory one of the most lopsided Sunflower Showdown results since 2010.

Overall, Noernberg returned 20 kicks, averaging just under 28 yards per return. He departs with multiple years of eligibility still remaining.
