Phillies Fans on Edge: Trea Turner’s Emotional Message Before Rockies Showdown

On Sunday afternoon, the Philadelphia Phillies will close out their series against the Colorado Rockies at Citizens Bank Park.
With the series currently tied 1-1, the winner of Sunday’s matchup will claim the series victory.
The Phillies are coming off a 9-3 win on Saturday.
In that game, Trea Turner recorded four hits, one stolen base, and one run over five at-bats.

Prior to Sunday’s game, Turner posted a heartfelt message on Instagram in honor of Mother’s Day.
He wrote: “Best Mommy in the whole word!! We love you @kristrn 😘”
Turner is one of MLB’s most popular players, boasting over 500,000 Instagram followers.
The 32-year-old enters Sunday’s game batting .244, with 40 hits, four home runs, 12 RBIs, 24 runs, and four stolen bases through his first 39 games.

Turner’s MLB Career Background


Turner was selected in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft.
He spent his first six and a half seasons with the Washington Nationals, helping lead the franchise to a World Series championship in 2019.
During his time with the Nationals, he also recorded two different seasons with 43 or more stolen bases.

After leaving Washington, Turner had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Now in his fourth season with the Phillies, the three-time All-Star has appeared in 1,305 career games, posting a .295 average with 1,571 hits, 190 home runs, 653 RBIs, 894 runs, and 319 stolen bases.

The Phillies enter Sunday with an 18-22 record over 40 games, placing them third in the National League East.
They are 11-12 in 23 home games.
Following Sunday’s contest, the Phillies will begin a series against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night at Fenway Park.
