(MILWAUKEE, AP) J.T. Realmuto blasted a three-run homer, and the Philadelphia Phillies erupted for five runs in the sixth inning before barely hanging on to beat the Milwaukee Brewers 9-8 on Saturday night.
Bryson Stott put Philadelphia ahead 4-3 in the sixth with his second RBI double of the game. Realmuto then followed with his fourth homer of the season, and Bryce Harper later added a sacrifice fly in the same inning.
The Phillies jumped out to a 3-0 lead after Edmundo Sosa homered in the second and Realmuto contributed an RBI single during a two-run fourth. Sosa, Realmuto, Kyle Schwarber, and Brandon Marsh each collected three hits as part of Philadelphia’s 17-hit attack a sharp turnaround from the previous night, when the Phillies managed just one hit as Milwaukee ace Jacob Misiorowski struck out 15 over 95 dominant pitches in his first career shutout.

Jackson Chourio went 4-for-5 with two homers and four RBIs for the Brewers, who have dropped three of four after a four-game winning streak. Garrett Mitchell added a two-run shot for the NL Central leaders.
Milwaukee cut the deficit to 8-5 in the seventh when Chourio launched a two-run drive to center for his second homer of the night, marking his second multi-homer game this season and the fourth of his career.
Marsh tacked on an RBI single in the eighth, but the Brewers answered with three runs off Brad Keller in the bottom half. Mitchell scored on a wild pitch, Christian Yelich delivered a sacrifice fly, and Chourio lined an RBI single before Keller struck out Brice Turang. William Contreras, who had three hits, fouled out to end the inning.

Tim Mayza (2-1) stranded runners at the corners by retiring Mitchell to end the fifth, keeping the game tied at 3.
Jhoan Duran worked a perfect ninth to earn his 18th save.
Brewers starter Shane Drohan (3-2) was pulled after allowing a leadoff single to Marsh in the sixth. Drohan struck out a career-high seven without issuing a walk but was charged with four runs on eight hits.
Chad Patrick took over for Drohan and gave up hits to the first five batters he faced, allowing four runs and five hits in just one inning.
Sunday’s marquee matchup features Philadelphia lefty Cristopher Sánchez (8-2, 1.54 ERA) against Milwaukee’s southpaw Kyle Harrison (7-1, 2.72).
