With the Detroit Pistons preparing to become active in the NBA trade market, several players are expected to be made available in potential deals.
Isaiah Stewart currently stands out as the biggest name, though Sports Illustrated’s Caden Handwork pointed to three additional players who could be included in package deals and sent elsewhere.
In a recent piece cautioning fans not to be caught off guard by certain roster moves, veteran sharp-shooter Duncan Robinson was mentioned as a possible departure for Detroit this offseason.
Detroit Pistons Receive Trade Caution Regarding 8-Year NBA Veteran
“If the Pistons are going to land Trey Murphy III from the New Orleans Pelicans, they’ll probably need to part with more than just Stewart,” Handwork noted. “Detroit guard Duncan Robinson could be one of those supplementary pieces.”
The Pistons possess a number of assets that could appeal to trade partners, and Robinson is certainly a player worth monitoring for various reasons his outside shooting, veteran presence, and manageable contract all factor in.
Duncan Robinson’s Contract Details

Robinson inked a three-year, $47.9 million deal with the Pistons during the 2025 NBA offseason.
For the 2025-2026 campaign, Robinson earned $16.8 million from Detroit, which represents the peak annual salary within that agreement.
The contract decreases in yearly value and is now only partially guaranteed going forward. Robinson is eligible for $15.9 million, but that amount becomes guaranteed only if he remains on the roster through January 10, 2027. Should Detroit waive him prior to that date, they would owe him just $2.0 million.
Duncan Robinson’s Role With the Pistons

Robinson isn’t considered untouchable in Detroit, but the front office would only move him if the return package is compelling enough.
For a franchise actively seeking three-point shooting, dealing away Robinson would seem somewhat counterintuitive. Over 77 appearances in the 2025-2026 season, Robinson connected on 45.6% of his field goal attempts while averaging 12.2 points per game. He hoisted 7.0 three-pointers per contest and knocked them down at a 41.0% clip.
The Pistons have also shown clear interest in veteran guard Tyler Herro. Whether the Miami Heat or Milwaukee Bucks would insist on including Robinson in any potential three-team swap remains uncertain.
